EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Vision Development Foundation, a civil society organisation in collaboration with Ahmed AL-Taie of International General Trading Dubai, Tuesday disbursed D841, 300 to students, disaster victims and institutions in support of needy people.
The cheques were presented to the beneficiaries at the Foundation’s office in Banjul. The beneficiaries include students of The Gambia College and University of The Gambia, disaster victims and Serrekunda General Hospital.
The Foundation’s director of public relations and operation, Saihou Fofana said Vision Development Foundation is a non-governmental organization that focus its engagement in supporting people in need. He said VDF have immensely contributed to development of many communities in the country for the past years.
The beneficiaries also expressed their delight for the gesture. Dr Alagie Manneh, who spoke on behalf of Serrekunda General Hospital, who received D300, 000 ahead of a surgical camp later this month, which was initiated by the hospital since 2017 and now solely funded by VDF, thanked the Foundation for the gesture.
He thanked the Foundation’s chief executive officer Momodou Turo Darboe for the benevolent gesture, while urging other philanthropists to emulate him.
Vision Development Foundation is a humanitarian organisation that deeply involves in supporting the less privileged people in the areas of health, education and community development programs. It is a registered non-governmental institution since 2006, and among its aims is to support the poor and needy.
