EYEAFRICA TV: Xiangxi Tujia: Chinese people are putting up red lanterns and staging light shows for celebrating the upcoming Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on Saturday this year.
In Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of central China’s Hunan Province, thousands of red lanterns add more festival atmosphere to Fenghuang Ancient Town. The red lanterns are even more attractive when hanging on the ancient buildings. Many visitors come from afar to enjoy this unique jubilant environment.
During the Spring Festival holiday in Jinan City of east China’s Shandong Province, a light show will light up the sky every night since Wednesday.
The light show, projected on more than 30 buildings, sends new year wishes to local residents with the characters including “Happy New Year” and “Fu,” a Chinese character meaning fortune and happiness.
