Ugandan Government announces travel measures on 16 countries due to COVID-19

EYEAFRICA TV: Kampala, Uganda: The spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has now reached all continents including Africa and this has put tension on all countries given the rate at which the virus spreads.

In order to prevent the importation of COVID-19 and protect the population, government has put stringent measures on travelers from 16 countries categorized as high risk.

Minister for Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng confirms that travelers from these countries will be isolated for 14 days regardless of whether they have the symptoms or not. These travelers will also be required to meet the isolation costs.

Dr.Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister for Health said putting a travel ban is against the World Health regulations but some countries have defied it to protect their population from the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, government is in advanced stages to start body spraying of all travelers at the airport.

According to the Ministry of Health, the disinfectant spray is safe and is recommended by the World Health Organization.
