EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: Philanthropist Momnodou Turo Darboe has donated 100 blood bags to Gambia’s major health referral hospital Edward Francis Small teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in the country’s capital, Banjul.
Blood bag shortage hit the country’s only teaching hospital since last month with people, including the hospital staff launching an appeal from philanthropists and the international community to intervene and save lives.
In a video shared on facebook social media last week, two nurses were seen appealing to the international community to help save lives by helping the hospital with blood bags which they said is in scarcity in the hospital at the moment.
This is Mr. Darboe’s numerous assistance to the hospital and humanity which he has been doing for years now. His assistance followed media reports that the need for blood bags at the hospital has reached an emergency point while some number of them were imported from the neighboring country Senegal.
