EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, the Gambia: The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission has suspended public hearings and all outreach activities with effect from Wednesday.
The break as a result of the Corona-virus pandemic will last until the first week of June, the Commission announced during a brief session in Kololi.
Chairman Lamin J Sise said the duration of the suspension will also include the upcoming Ramadan season.
This move came in line with the directive from the Office of the President regarding the Gambia Government’s efforts to contain the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
The President on Tuesday ordered the banning of all public gathering for a period of three weeks even before the confirmation of the first case of the corona-virus in the country.
