SUDAN’S GOVERNMENT INKED A PEACE DEAL WITH REBEL GROUPS

Sudan’s government has signed a peace deal agreement with nine rebel groups from the western region of Darfur.

The historic agreement signed in South Sudan is expected to open a new page for transitional justice and to bring unity among the parties in the country.

Despite the government’s commitment to end the conflict, other groups opted to stay away from negotiation, noting that they are not ready to join the Sudan national army.
