EYEAFRICA TV: Bakau, THE GAMBIA:- The famous Gambian Afromanding rap star, commonly known as Brikama boyo, is set to launch his latest album dubbed “Dinding Mansa” at the Independence Stadium as planned, following the resolution of the row between the artist and authorities at the Independence Stadium.
After days of war with the stadium authorities, ST is now allowed to use the the facility for the big event scheduled to take place on 5th February, 2021.
ST’s management issued a statement saying the problem had been amicably resolved following candid and fruitful engagements with relevant stakeholders.
“We are pleased to announce that the Dinding Mansa Album launching will proceed on February 6th, 2021 as planned. The challenge we had in relation to the venue – the Independence Stadium, has been resolved amicably following candid and fruitful engagements with relevant stakeholders,” the singer’s management said.
“We would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the Management of the Stadium, the Ministry of Youths and Sports, and the entire Gambia government for their cooperation and support.
“Special thanks to the fans, well-wishers, fellow artists of ST for their solidarity throughout this difficult period. It means a lot and is hugely appreciated by ST and his management.”
According to his management, the massive public support is demonstrative of the fact that ST is truly a Gambian pride and man of the people – a love affair that stems from years of fidelity to the values of excellence, community service, and selflessness.
“It goes without saying that part of the proceeds from the album launching and all other shows are plowed back into our communities through the ST Foundation for Community Development and other private endeavors.”
The management of Independence Stadium on Friday argued that ST had no approval, agreement or contract with them for the use of its facilities.
“ST and one of his management team visited the stadium on the 14th January 2021 to discuss the use of the stadium for his album launching in which they were informed that all musical concerts and shows are no longer allow in the main bowl,” the stadium management said in a statement.
The management said it was “totally disheartening and flabbergasted” with the false information and lies contained in the ST and his Management press release issued on the 28th January 2021 to media houses and social media in regards to the usage of the stadium facilities.
“As much as we all want to celebrate our Gambian musicians and artist for the immense strides and promotion of our music, the stadium will always be made available for them but at the Bella Arena including ST. His D30, 000 advance payment is still available for the use of the Bella Arena for the launching of his album if he completes the full payment.”
