EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: A source close to Teachers for Change Task force have told Eye Africa TV that they have been invited by the Vice President Ousainou Darboe to his office at State House in Banjul to discuss and device strategies on how to address the ongoing indefinite sit down strike at 15: 30pm on Monday.
However, the Teachers for Change loyalists are once again assured that before any agreement, deal or resolution is made, the task force will come back to the striking teachers for consultations.
Teachers for Change is a group of Gambian teachers who have been organizing sit down-strikes in protest for salary increment and full payment of provincial and hardship allowances.
On Sunday, personnel of The Gambia Police Intervention Unit (PIU) reportedly harassed Babucarr Manga; an Eye Africa TV Cameraman while he was filming a meeting organized by Teachers for Change at Abuko Upper Basic School.
