EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA:- Ferries management of the GPA has announced that a Senegalese truck, numbered KL5203B and loaded with groundnut from Yelli Tenda to Bamba Tenda suddenly fell on the SeneGambia bridge on Monday night, thereby blocking all traffic across the bridge from both ends.
The management said in a Facebook post, it is currently working on logistics to move the truck off the bridge.
“In the meantime, vehicles and passengers can kindly use the Banjul Barra crossing until the situation is resolved,” the statement continued.
In an interview with Bayo News Network, a concern driver, Lamin Jafuneh said: “The accident has cause a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the river Gambia but the officials of Gambia Ports Authority have dispatched fork lift truck to free the highway.”
The driver appealed to GPA to allow the ferry service side by side with the bridge users to avoid similar delay of traffic in future.
