Press release: Eye Africa TV welcomes TV license in The Gambia

EYEAFRICA TV: Wellingara, THE GAMBIA:-The management of Eye Africa is pleased to inform the public that the media outlet has been granted Digital Terrestrial TV license approved by the Ministry of Information and Communications Infrastructure (MOICI) through Public Utility and Regulatory Authority (PURA) on Tuesday, 25th January, 2021.

The approval of the Television Broadcasting (Content Provider Free Air) license will pave the way for Eye Africa TV to begin broadcasting for wider audience.

The Chief Executive Officer of Eye Africa, Lamin Kanteh described this development as another great milestone in the annals of broadcasting in the country. “I want to underline our resolve to be a major player in the transformation process of Gambia’s media industry. As a household name for changing the television broadcasting landscape, we remain steadfast and shall continue leading this trajectory for a better and standardised media sector,” he said.

As a global online media established in 2012, we have lived the test of time in our 24-hour news and current affairs services from our broadcast headquarters in Banjul and subsidiary online bureaus in the United States, Europe and Asia.

The desire of portraying the good image of Africa and the engagements of Africans in worldly records, has placed Eye Africa in the list of broadcasters highly sought after for high profiled global events. From this unique position, we are destined to be the first TV channel owned and managed by young people from The Gambia with global characteristics and outreach.

So, the demand of close to a million regular audience has over the years compelled the management to ensure our terrestrial presence to the advantage of the greater population for our mind awakening programmes.

We wish to inform our esteem followers that in the coming days, Eye Africa TV will be operating on the DTT on frequency number 6 for home and office screens and this will not interrupt our usual broadcasting on all online platforms including YouTube and Facebook.

We wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to upholding the TV’s policy of accuracy, balanced reporting and development orientation through our well researched stories on news, and coverage of events around the continent and the world at large.

We thank you for supporting and following Eye Africa TV over the years and we are much excited to begin this new adventure with you. Together, we can positively contribute to the dynamic world through telling stories that transcend boundaries and change lives.

Eye Africa, Your Pan-African TV.
