EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA:- Gambian President Adama Barrow, who was due to travel to Dubai on a five-day working visit, has postponed the trip, the presidency announced late Saturday.
“The Office of the President informs the general public that the President’s trip to Dubai scheduled for 3rd – 8th April 2021 has been postponed,” State House said in a statement.
President Barrow, the dispatch added, will resume work on Tuesday 6th April 2021, following the end of his annual leave.
The Gambian leader was due to visit Dubai “at the invitation of the Private Office of His Highness, Sheihk Marwan Bin Mohammed Bin Rasid Al Maktoum of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.”
Barrow’s office has however provided no reason as to why he postponed the reported trip. The president was expected to explore possible partnerships to promote and strengthen Public-Private Partnership while in Dubai.
In July 2019, President Barrow became the first Gambian leader invited in an official capacity to visit the UAE.
