The Gambia Red Cross Society over the weekend helped over 10 families solemnly lay to rest their loved ones who are believed to have died of COVID-19.
A source at the Ministry of Health also confirm to eyeafrica that; “at least 10 corpses have been laid to rest during the past 48 hours.” But was quick to add that not all who were buried during the pass hours are confirmed to have died of the coronavirus.
However, another source from the said ministry also confirm to us that, six out of the number buried over the weekend died of Covid-19. Since the first case was confirmed in the country, the Gambia Red Cross Society has assisted in the burial of 24 bodies among which eleven have been confirmed to be COVID related.
