EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Kanifing Municipal Council has unleashed it’s second batch of waste collection vehicles in their efforts to curb waste menace in the Municipality. The latest development brought in 4 vehicles out of which two are skip trucks with ten bins, one septic emptier and waste collection compactor.
Waste collection is one of the hard-task challenge of local council, taking the largest chunk of the task payers money.
Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda delved on his Council’s Commitment to ensure that the Municipality becomes the cleanest settlement in the sub region.
He used the opportunity to thank the Minister of lands and Regional governments for the support in ensuring the delivery of the vehicles and his staff for their tireless efforts in ensuring the delivery of quality services to the people of the Municipality.
Acting chief executive office of the Council commended Mayor Bensouda and Council members for the foresight. He praised the Council’s line ministry for their unlimited support in the provision of a duty waiver for the trucks which he emphasized is meant to provide services to the general public.
