Former Brikama United’s midfield maestro Ebou Kante, scored his debut goal for Sheikh Jamal as they won against Arambagh Krira.
Ebou popularly known as Gaucho has been regular since joining the Yellow Tides in early May this year.
Thursday’s victory came after a mixture of results which saw last season’s runners-up at fifth place with 23 points.
Sheikh Jamal who were missing Solomon Kanform went home with all the three points, thanks to Ebou Kante 18 yard shot in the 46th minute.
Kante who also previously featured for Real de Banjul was relieved after scoring his maiden goal.
“I wasn’t bothered on the goal drought, I knew it was about adoption to new challenges, goal scoring can be part of it. It was difficult in the past games, but I believe luck wasn’t on my side. I worked extremely hard at training grounds for my goals and finally it came, lots will follow”. He assured.
The Bangladeshi Premier League is a hub for a host of Gambian players with some going on to become successful.
The latest adventure for one of Brikama’s greatest prospect is just the beginning; Ebou Kante has played all categories of the national team earning him three senior national team caps.
He is a double GFF First Division winner with Brikama UTD, Zonal Champions with Brikama in 2012 and the following year he won UMBRIA international Youth Championship in Italy.
