EYEAFRICA TV: Paris, FRANCE: French-born Gambian forward Aboubakary Kante has signed for Belgian Jupiler League side Cercle Brugge.
The 24-year-old forward joined the Green and Blacks from relegated French Ligue 2 side AC Beziers after a personally impressive season where he netted ten goals and provided two assists in 34 second-tier league games.
Various clubs such ss Standard Liege, Montpellier, Union Berlin, Elche and an unknown MLS club were after his signature but he chose Brugge as he believes he can get to the top of his game at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Cercle Brugge boss Francois Vitali is elated with the signing of Kante and he is confident he can help them next season.
“We are satisfied with the transfer of Kante, he is a player with the neccessary qualities to help Brugge in their ambitious project.” Vitali stressed.
Kante was named in the Scorpions double-header friendly games this month but had to be excused because of his transfer.
