EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: Information reaching Eye Africa TV has revealed that Haruna Jatta, the man who died from the Friday confrontation between the Ecomig forces and villagers of Kanilai could not be buried as planned due to the unavailability of the person who supposed to conduct postmortem on him at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.
According to sources closed to Eye Africa at the Banjul hospital, the person who is supposed to conduct the postmortem is not feeling ok.
On Friday, some residence of Kanilai reportedly conducted a demostration, demanding for the Ecomig forces, who are in the country on an Ecowas mandate to vacate their community. This later spread into a serious fiasco, leading to shooting that led to many of the villagers sustaining injuries while Mr. Jatta died.
