The distribution of Government’s Covid-19 Emergency Food Aid has begun across the entire nation as hundreds of truck-loads leave McCarthy Square daily, announced the Gambia Government’s Spokesperson.
As of Tuesday Ebrima G Sankareh said some over 193 thousand bags of rice and more than 197 thousand bags of sugar have reached their distribution centres nationwide.
Of the 148,000 of 10-Litre drums of cooking oil, some 125,618 drums have also left McCarthy Square for the various distribution centres across The Gambia, he said in a statement.
Mr Sankareh announced that the distribution from McCarthy Square to the provinces is expected to end before Friday.
