GFF's under performance is a shame on our government

EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Brikama North National Assembly member and deputy senior administrative secretary of the United Democratic Party (UDP) has lashed out at the Adama Barrow-led government, saying it is responsible for the country’s football governing body; Gambia Football Federation (GFF) under performance.
Addressing UDP militants and their top rankers at a rally in Bakau on Sunday, Alhagie S Darboe said President Barrow and his government continues to discourage Gambian young people helping joblessness in the country through disregarding football and other sporting activities in his development agenda.
“GFF is entirely relying on Fifa subvention. Nothing is coming from the government. It is not a shame on GFF but the government and that is why GFF is under performing. Activities like sports are the better opportunities to help our young people.”
Mr Darboe praised the achievement of Gina Bass; his one-time student for breaking records in international athletics, but expressed disappointment with the president for not mentioning even a single thing about sports during his State of the Nation address at the National Assembly.
Mr Darboe also adviced President Barrow to go back to the people and ask them and whatever they decide, he can follow that, saying even though former President Yahya Jammeh was a soldier, but has respected Gambians and agreed to take country to the pools in just two years after taking over the country. “I will launch a Mengbe Kering information sharing and if anyone wants to understand the ABC of the coalition can follow that.”
He also asked Gambia government authorities to avoid placing stiff rules on investors, saying if the new Gambia give room to investors, the joblessness the country is crying of will be history.
