EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Ebrima Sohna, Gambian international footballer and chief executive officer of Esohna sports is jointly organising a Charity football game with Jerreh Badjie, head of Chambai group, on 24 December, at Qcity.
The fun raising game will bring together the country’s professional players and renowned artists, who have been recently rocking the country with some great events.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chambai group head, Jerreh Badjie, who is also an rights activist said the game between professional footballers and the artists is aimed at raising fund to support the vulnerable.
He said the two partners in their own ways have been supporting different people in the country, saying the fund that would be raised from the game will be forwarded to support football academies, Madarasas and the orphanages, among others.
Ebrima Sohna appealed to companies, parastatals, and the government to support the initiative which is meant to empower the less privileged.
He said he had earlier managed to build one Arabic school but that is not enough, and the objective is to help as many people as possible.
Several Gambian professional players at both home and abroad have promised to participate in the upcoming game while artists like Jizzle, Big fa, Jali Madi and many others are horning their skills for the much anticipated encounter.
Ticket prizes for the game is pegged at D100, and D300 at the gate for ordinary, while VIP is D500.
