EYEAFRICA TV: Beijing, China: Cutting-edge cars are going to amaze the visitors of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) which will start on Tuesday.
The expo has established an Auto Innovation Technology and Autonomous Driving Experience Zone, which covers an area of 16,000 square meters outside the National Exhibition and Convention Center, venue for the expo.
Visitors can experience innovative automobile technologies, such as self-driving cars and hydrogen-powered cars in the zone.
“With the development of the 5G technology, and the relevant technologies of big data and artificial intelligence, cars will become more energy-efficient, such as the new-energy vehicles, including hydrogen-powered cars. Meanwhile, they will also become smarter, such as the intelligent cars, which will be the main development direction for the transformation of cars,” Wei Junsheng, director for the outdoor automobile exhibition area of the second CIIE.
The number of cars which will be displayed in the indoor automobile exhibition zone this time has exceeded 140, up ten percent from the first CIIE.
The exhibits are divided into three categories, respectively showcasing vintage cars, new models from famous automakers, and the future development of cars, such as new energy cars, autonomous cars and “flying cars.”
“At present, we can see that many companies are working on transformation. They also brought their change and transformation to the CIIE, hoping to interpret and demonstrate them to more people,” said Dong Minqi, director for the automobile exhibition zone of the second CIIE.
The second CIIE running from Nov. 5 to 10 consists of country exhibitions, business exhibitions and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum. Guests and representatives from more than 170 countries and regions have been invited to attend the expo.
