EYEAFRICA TV: Nairobi, Kenya: Kenya has registered nine new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours bring the total number to 59 the highest in a single day so far.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi says a total of 1668 close contacts are being closely monitored. Following the increase in numbers Kenya preparedness to handle the outbreak is almost coming to test. The country as of Tuesday had 59 confirmed cases.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi who gave the update on the coronavirus status in the country Tuesday said the government is expanding its isolation capacity and plans to employ over 1,000 health workers are underway.
Nairobi county leads the country with 34 confirmed cases, Mombasa-6, Kitui, Kajiado and Kwale counties have one each.
