EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Executive members of Gambia’s first ruling Peoples’ Progressive Party (PPP) were received by President Adama Barrow Friday morning at his office at State House in Banjul.
Mr. Barrow wrote on his facebook page: “I was happy to receive the leadership of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) in my office this morning.”
His post garnered several welcomes and appreciation from people who believe that was a step in nurturing an open-door practice from his office while others gave him a negative tap.
“They showed appreciation for the state funeral accorded to the late Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, who was a founding father of the party. We also discussed his legacy, which should continue to inspire us especially in our efforts to strengthen our new found democracy,” Mr. Barrow wrote.
He said he used the opportunity to thank the PPP Executive for expressing their continuing commitment to support his government’s five-year development agenda.
