Barrow Attends First AU Summit since He Become President

EYEAFRICA TV: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: President Adama Barrow has arrived in the Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa to attend the 29th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union for the first time since he became president of the tiny West Africa Nation last December. The two-day Summit is scheduled for tomorrow 3rd – 4th July 2017.
President Barrow and his delegation departed from the Banjul International Airport earlier this afternoon.
Tomorrow’s summit will mainly focus on this year’s Theme: “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in the Youth”.
As the continent face big challenges in youth unemployment and migration among others, it has now become time to stand up and address those challenges as nations and a continent.
President Barrow accompanied was accompanied by her wife, who will also take part in the 19th Ordinary General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA), under the Theme: “Building on 15 years of engagement to harness the demographic dividend (DD) of Africa through promoting the needs of adolescents and their access to youth-friendly health services”.
