EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Gambian former President Yahya Jammeh’s Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Constructions (APRC) party has announced that it has expel five of its supporters from the party, saying their actions and behaviours pose threat to the harmony and unity of the party.
In a press statement on Thursday, signed by the party’s spokesperson and secretary, the party said its expulsion of Kittim Jarju of Germany, Sulayman Shyngle Nyassi of UK, Nabou Saho of Sweden, Councillor Lamin Ceesay, Asampulo Atti Jammeh Kunda of Brikama
And Amie Jammeh of Germany disqualified them from using the name of the party or act in any way representing APRC.
The expulsion came barely a week after Sulayman Shyngle Nyassi, a former APRC spokesperson and activist challenged the top brass of the APRC leadership and call for their resignation.
As reported by the Standard newspaper, Shyngle Nyassi quoted as saying that the APRC leadership were engage in fraudulent act. “I am saying Fabakary Tombong Jatta, Yankuba Colley and Ousman Rambo Jatta should resign and if they fail to do so, I am urging Yahya Jammeh to fire them because they have done nothing other than extorting money from the under privileged masses of our country in the name of APRC.”
The statement said the expulsion is necessitated to redress their actions and behaviors pose threat of jeopardizing the harmony and unity of the party. By this action, all of them may not use the name of the party or act in any way representing APRC,” it said.
