4 Senegalese arrested, charged with theft

EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: Police Anti-Crime Unit Friday arrested four Senegal nationals for on allegation of stealing mobile accessories and breaking into a Forex bureau. They are alleged to have stolen mobile phones worth 55, 000, 1000 dollars from a Forex bureau and a sewing machine.
Sheikh Mbakeh, Sheikh Njie, Ebrima Leigh and one Hadim are said to have been arrested at a lodge in Kerr Sering, following complaints from several people after continuous missing of their properties. Criminal charges of alleged stealing, house breaking and attempted house breaking have been leveled against them.
Police spokesperson Assistant Superintendent Lamin Njie said their last attempted alleged theft operation that led to their arrest were in Bijilo, Kerr Sering and Tipper Garas. He said if they had succeeded, it is suspected that they would smuggle the alleged stolen properties to Senegal.
ASP Njie said the matter is now under investigation while the Police calls the public to come and identify their properties from the confiscated goods.
