EYEAFRICA TV: Conakry, GUINEA:- President Adama Barrow has been conferred with the National Order of Merit, the highest award of Guinea, during his official visit to the West African country.
The Gambian President is currently on the second day of his three-day state visit to Guinea.
The President is recognized in the citation for his contributions to the consolidation of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
President Barrow thanked President Alpha Condé for the hospitality shown to him and his delegation, as well as for being honoured with such a prestigious award.
‘’This visit is the result of decades of trusted partnership, which continues to strengthen our cooperation on various fronts,” President Barrow said after being conferred with the honour by President Conde.
The visit, according to Barrow, is an occasion to commemorate and reaffirm the unbreakable links of friendship and brotherhood, as well as the cultural links that tie the two countries and peoples together.
He further acknowledged the two countries’ profound historical and cultural ties, calling for a reaffirmation of shared values and the development of the two nations, region, and the continent as a whole.
