EYEAFRICA TV: Beijing, China: Fourteen people who sacrificed their lives on the front line in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic have been honored as martyrs, local authorities said Thursday.
They are Wang Bing, Feng Xiaolin, Jiang Xueqing, Liu Zhiming, Li Wenliang, Zhang Kangmei, Xiao Jun, Wu Yong, Liu Fan, Xia Sisi, Huang Wenjun, Mei Zhongming, Peng Yinhua and Liao Jianjun.
They are held up as excellent representatives of the role models working on the front line in the fight against the virus.
The COVID-19 outbreak is a public health breaking event that has spread most rapidly, caused the most extensive infection and the most difficult to contain since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Martyr is the highest honor given by the Party and the state for those who sacrificed their lives for cause of the state, the society and people.
