EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, The Gambia: A heavily loaded truck Wednesday evening plunged into the sea at the ferry crossing point in Gambia’s capital, Banjul when it slipped from the ramp of the Kunta Kinteh during embarkation.

Social media comments and reports earlier suggest that it was the specialised docking facility that receives the ferryboat that got broke, but latest reports denied that, saying the truck slipped from the ramp while disembarking from the ferry.

A large crowd stood by while the truck driver struggles to force the car from the water. No casualty was reported from the incident. Such incidents have been happening at the Banjul terminal, with some leading to injuries.

In June, a heavily loaded truck plunged into the sea at the Yelli Tenda-Bamba Tenda ferry crossing point in the North Bank Region commercial tow of Farafenni, while on board the ferry.
