President Barrow Returns After Extension Of Qatar Visit

EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: President of the Republic of The Gambia has returned home after an extended state visit to Qatar where he signed multiple deals in the course of bilateral ties between Doha and Banjul.

The president together with his high-powered delegation left on Monday and was expected back to office two days later according to statement from statehouse but that wasn’t the case until Friday morning.
It is not clear as to what led to extension of his visit to Doha where he took a close study of preparation for the next World Cup with a view to replicate the idea for the 2022 OIC summit in Banjul.

Mr Barrow and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani presided over the signing of four new Memoranda of Understanding and bilateral agreements in the sectors of communications, judiciary, customs, and youth and sports on Wednesday.

His arrival is on the exact occasion for the release of the much-awaited report of the Commission of Inquiry in to financial dealings of former government, which he had vowed to implement.
