EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: President Adama Barrow has promised to dispense his development obligation to Gambians irrespective of their political affiliations.
He renewed his pledge for national developments while addressing thousands of delegates from the West Coast Region who called on to show their support to his leadership on Sunday at State House, Banjul.
The meeting having come in what is considered as ‘month of congresses’ for political parties, Barrow sees the visit of the country’s most influential region in politics as the ‘bigger congress’. “This is my congress, and I am sure no congress would be bigger”, he said.
Among the delegates were those from Foni, the region of former president Jammeh where the political narrative is yet to register major changes.
To them, the president said “I will never overlook you or anyone for development simply because you are not with me.”
“I wish to tell the people of Foni that they are part of my family”, he said, adding that this is “in the spirit of national reconciliation and social cohesion, and aware of the fact that I am everyone’s president.”
In what looked like a typical political rally, the crowd chanted ‘‘we are with you, Mr. President!’ showing their immense solidarity on Barrow’s development agenda.
As he commends the visitors for their move, Barrow expressed his government’s commitment to bring groundbreaking development projects that would significantly impact the lives of ordinary Gambians.
