Kuwait and Bolivia calls for urgent UN Security Council meeting on the Gaza offensive

EYEAFRICA TV: New York, USA: Kuwait, and Bolivia have requested for urgent meeting of UN Security Council to discuss the ongoing offensive in Gaza, according to diplomatic sources.

The Security Council is expected to discuss the matter behind-closed doors on Tuesday.

The request comes in the wake Israeli airstrikes across the blockaded Gaza Strip killing at least 14 Palestinians and turning the place into rubbles since Sunday.

The renewed Israeli attacks came one day after seven Palestinians and an Israeli soldier were killed in an undercover Israeli operation in the blockaded enclave.

In June this year the UN Security Council rejected Kuwait-backed resolution for the protection of Palestinians.

Kuwait is the current representative of Arab countries at the council.
