China is awakening The Gambia on agreements signed

EYEAFRICA TV: Banjul, THE GAMBIA: China is awakening the government of The Gambia on agreements signed between the two countries and those of the Beijing summit.

In 2016, China and Gambia resumed diplomatic relations after Gambia cut ties with Taiwan.

The two countries pledged to develop friendship at all levels including agricultural, industrial, and infrastructural sectors.

In his meeting with President Adama Barrow on Tuesday, the Chinese Ambassador to The Gambia, Ma Jianchun said, his meeting was a reminder on Xi Jinping’s development blueprint with African leaders.

This project, he said is building up and that Africans are certified with the cooperation.

In trying to implement agreements from the Beijing summit, “we are trying to make quick developments again”, he said.

“Our president announced 8 big initiatives which includes industrialization, agricultural cooperation, and also infrastructural development”

During the Beijing Summit in September, Chinese President Xi Jinping on pledged $60 billion in financing for projects in Africa.

He said China’s investment and engagement on the continent would continue, with no political strings attached to Beijing’s investments.
